Description

Most of the Toyota Trucks from 1974-1989 were produced with the popular 20R and 22R 4 cylinder engines. The stock ignition system on these vehicles didn’t quite match the strength of this tough, hard working engine. Now, you can replace the weak ignition with our high output DUI Distributor! The DUI (Davis Unified Ignition) is the ultimate ignition system for this application. Featuring a high voltage coil and high dwell module, the all in one DUI just drops in and only one 12 volt hot wire is needed for hookup. The Toyota DUI is available in either the Street/Strip version (up to 7000 rpms) or the Racing version (up to 10,000 rpms). Due to the hotter and longer duration spark produced by the DUI, you will be able to open up the plug gaps to a whopping .055″. The larger gap provides a better burn of the fuel mixture which leads to more power and torque. No ballast resistor is required for the DUI like stock Toyota distributors and many aftermarket systems. Our DUI allows FULL voltage into the ignition system, giving you a hotter spark for more power, better fuel mileage, quicker starting and smoother idle. Each DUI is calibrated on a Sun distributor machine with a very accurate advance curve. With this custom timing curve, base timing can be increased from the factory setting of 0 degrees to 8 degrees. The increase in throttle response will set you back in your seat fast! The DUI is a real work of craftsmanship and although it is uniquely designed, replacement parts are easy to find. GM HEI replacement parts will fit right on the DUI and these parts can be found at any local auto parts store. Built for durability, the DUI has an upper and lower bushing, unlike stock Toyota distributors that have only one bushing. This adds strength and longevity to your ignition system. Each DUI is hand built, polished and lubed as it is assembled then test fired for quality assurance. During our busy season (March-September), build times can take slightly longer.

The Street/Strip Toyota DUI has a one year warranty. The Racing version comes with a 30 day warranty.
